Teenage actress Dakota Fanning says she is delighted to be a part of the ‘The Twilight Saga’ and was pleased when she was offered a role in the vampire romance.
The 16-year-old, who plays Jane, a member of the intimidating Volturi vampire coven in the movie, says she was a big fan of the original novel by Stephenie Meyers, reports contactmusic.com.
‘I’d read the books and seen the first film, and definitely I was a fan. I was honoured that I got asked to be a part of this whole phenomenon,’ said Fanning.
But Fanning confesses she was keen to do the female lead of Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart.
‘The parts are very specific and by the first one, ‘Twilight’ in 2008, the main roles were already cast and so it was great that I was able to be a little part of it,’ she added.
The actress also revealed that she and Stewart have become good friends while filming for the movie.
‘In ‘The Runaways’ we played best friends and we’re really great friends in real life,’ she said. [Source]
Dakota Fanning talked about her new movie, ‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ and how she loved playing someone evil since it was different from all her other roles, according to Sify.
“She definitely takes pleasure in using her power which is inflicting pain on others, which is not a normal thing! So yeah it was cool to get to transform myself into more of an evil character which I haven’t done before,” Fanning said. The evil character she’s talking about is a vampire named Jane.
According to the site, Fanning, 16, confessed that her acting career is the only career for her, but she does want to continue her education and attend college.
“I do want to go to college. I want to be able to act and go to college at the same time, But it is absolutely what I want do with the rest of my life. I can’t imagine doing anything else. It’s what I love,” she said. [Source]
